The working principle of the product:

The working principle of THENDERCLAP pre discharge lightning rod is to generate a faster upstream lead than ordinary lightning rods.

The strong electric field formed by thunderstorm clouds in the atmosphere is the source of electricity for lightning rods, and the ion generation of lightning rods also utilizes this energy, so there is no need for an external power source. When thundercloud charges accumulate, a huge field strength is generated between the thundercloud and the earth, which can reach KV/M level before the formation of lightning. There are six induction electrodes on the outside of the THENDERCLAP pre discharge lightning rod. After the lightning rod is grounded, their voltage forms a strong voltage difference with the tip of the main rod, quickly ionizing the nearby air, forming corona phenomenon, and producing a large number of charged particles. At the same time, the THENDERCLAP product is equipped with an ion generator inside, which generates high-voltage pulses and produces a large number of charged ions in the nearby atmosphere. The ions generated by these two systems quickly move upward under the action of lightning fields, and the insulation distance between the lightning cloud and the lightning rod is shortened. Therefore, compared to other objects located within the lightning rod protection zone, the lightning rod will release upward leading charges in advance. This leading charge then combines with the downward leading charge, and the lightning rod becomes the optimal trigger point for lightning.

Protection scope:

The main characteristic of a pre discharge lightning rod is its ability to release upward leading charges in advance compared to other objects located within the lightning rod protection area. This parameter is called the average pre excitation time △ t for emitting the leading charge upwards. This is the parameter that determines the effective protection radius range of the early discharge lightning rod.

The protection radius of the THENDERCLAP series products is related to its height (h), startup lead time (△ t), and selected protection level:
